Communications Method for Sending Amver Reports

The following method is preferred for sending Amver Reports:

1. Electronic mail via the Internet

   If a ship already has an inexpensive means of sending electronic mail to an internet address, this is a preferred method. Electronic mail may be sent via satellite or via hf radio, depending on the ship's equipment and arrangements with communications providers ashore. Ships must be equipped with a personal computer, an interface between the computer and the ship's communications equipment, and the appropriate software. Please note: the e-mail path on shore to the Amver center is essentially free, but the communications service provider may still charge from ship-to-shore.
