Amver Merchant Ship Rescues 14 Senegal Sailors 800 Miles Off Cape Cod
Fourteen Senegal nationals arrived in Brooklyn today aboard a merchant ship after being plucked from their 60-foot catamaran about 800 miles east of Cape Cod, Mass., Saturday afternoon. All 14 rescued, reportedly in good physical condition, were placed in the care of U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

Mariners Must Not Operate 121.5/243 MHz EPRIBS After 31 December 2006
Mariners are reminded that beginning January 1, 2007, both 121.5 and
243 MHz Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBS) are prohibited from
use in both commercial and recreational watercraft. Boaters wishing to have an

Canadian and United States Coast Guard resources continue to search for
the daughter of hockey legend Bob Gainey. On Dec 9 Laura Gainey, a crew member
aboard the Sailing Vessel Picton Castle, was washed overboard by a rogue wave over 400
miles off the coast of Cape Cod, MA. Weather conditions were quite rough when

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has developed a World Wide Web online Notice of Arrival (NOA) submission application. This method provides a submitter with the means for managing vessel arrival information online and automatically sends an output file containing arrival information to the National Vessel Movement Center (NVMC).
